The cash registers guide defines all cash registers (tills) used for tracking cash operations.

Overview

Cash registers represent physical cash tills or logical cash accounts. They are used in cash income/expense documents and POS operations. Each cash register tracks its own balance based on incoming and outgoing transactions.

Step-by-Step Guide

Adding a Cash Register

  1. Go to Guides > Cash Registers.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the Name (e.g. "Main Cash Register", "Bar Till").
  4. Select the Organization if you work with multiple legal entities.
  5. Set the Initial balance if the cash register already has money.
  6. Click Save.

FAQ

Can I have multiple cash registers?

Yes. It is common to have separate cash registers for different points of sale, departments, or shifts.

How is the cash register balance calculated?

The balance is the sum of all cash income documents minus all cash expense documents associated with the register, plus the initial balance.

Can I delete a cash register?

A cash register cannot be deleted if it has been used in any financial documents. You can only delete unused cash registers.
