Installation, database connection, cloud link and diagnostics — Paloma365 Classic (Windows POS)
A reference for the system side of Paloma365 Classic: which network access the POS needs, how the first launch and the database connection work, how the POS keeps its link to the cloud and to the main computer, where to find the version, logs and self-diagnosis, how to reach support and how to close the program properly. "Settings" below means the "Настройки Paloma365 - фронт офис" window: "MENU" → "Settings", protected by the settings password.
Network access required by Paloma365 Classic
- Database: the MySQL/MariaDB server on the outlet's main computer, TCP port 3306 by default (set in the connection wizard, "MySQL connection port" («Порт подключения к MySQL»)).
- Paloma365 cloud: over HTTPS or HTTP — online.paloma365.com, kzonline.paloma365.com, alfafront.paloma365.com.
- Incoming ports on the POS itself (only if the screen is enabled): 8081 — order-ready screen (Settings → "Chef and cooking" («Повар и готовка блюд») tab, "Port" field), 8082 — customer screen («Настройка экранов» (Screen settings) tab, "Port" field).
- Notes: additional terminals need access to the database port on the main computer — the "Create network credential" («Создать сетевой аккаунт») button on the main computer opens it in Windows Firewall. With "Disable HTTPS connection" («Отключить HTTPS соединение») ticked, the cloud is reached over http://.
Automatic switch to a backup cloud address
- How it works: if the main cloud address is unreachable, the POS tries the other built-in addresses one by one — https first, then http for each. If a "URL address" («Прокси url») is set, it is tried first. Once the main address answers again, the POS switches back to it. After an address change the POS signs in to the cloud again.
- When it triggers: on a network error while exchanging data with the cloud, and during the background cloud check (run no more than once a minute).
- Setup: none, it is automatic.
Cloud connection indicator on the main screen
- Where: main screen → "HTTPS" or "HTTP" label (depending on the exchange mode), the "Point of sales" («Торговая точка») and "Workplace" («Рабочее место») names.
- How to tell the cloud is unreachable: the label turns red, the point of sales and workplace names turn grey and the sync button is disabled. If the failure happened during an exchange, the label changes to "HTTPS lost connection to the cloud" («HTTPS нет связи с облаком») / "HTTP lost connection to the cloud".
- Notes: the indicator refreshes every 15 seconds, but the cloud check itself runs no more than once a minute — after the internet returns the indicator may take a moment to clear. If the POS uses the socket-server notification channel, it stops when the link is lost and restarts when it returns.
First launch of Paloma365 Classic: sign-in and the database connection wizard
- Where: POS start → sign-in window → the "Paloma365" wizard with "Step 1" ("Database name"), "Step 2" ("Creation of the database"), "Step 3" ("General settings") and the "Next" / "Exit" buttons.
- When it appears: on the first launch or after the database was reset — sign-in first, then the wizard. The wizard also opens if the POS cannot connect to the selected database.
- Database name: defaults to the account name ("Paloma365 database name" field, hint "Example: Paloma365Account"). Only Latin letters, digits, dot, "_" and "-" are allowed.
- Notes: MySQL/MariaDB is supported. If the connected database belongs to another account, the POS asks "A discrepancy between the data of the current "Account" and the data in the "Local Database" was detected. Continue?" — answering "No" reopens the wizard.
The "Install" button in the wizard: MySQL or MariaDB not found
- Where: wizard → "Step 1" → "MySQL or MariaDB" block («MySQL или MariaDB») saying MySQL/MariaDB is required but was not detected → "Install" («Установить») button.
- When it is shown: if the POS finds no sign of an installed MySQL on the computer — no MySQL installation record or no "MySQL" service.
- How it works: the button starts the MySQL installer if its file is in the program folder; otherwise "Failed to setup!" («Не удалось выполнить установку!») appears.
Database server connection fields in the wizard
- Where: wizard → "Step 2" → "MySQL server address" (defaults to this same computer), "MySQL connection port" (3306), "MySQL connection user", "MySQL connection password" → "Connect" («Подключиться»).
- If the database does not exist: the POS asks "Database … was not found! Create?" («База … не найдена! Хотите создать?») and creates it itself.
- Errors: wrong credentials — "No connection to database: … Incorrect login and password for MySQL"; server not responding — "Database server is not responding" («Сервер баз данных не отвечает», database on this computer) or «Удаленный компьютер: … не отвечает» (remote computer … is not responding, database on another computer).
- Notes: connection parameters are saved on this computer. If another computer's address is entered, the POS works as an additional workplace (network mode).
The "Network credentials" checkbox and searching for the main computer
- Where: wizard → "Step 2" → "Network credentials" («Сетевые учётные данные») checkbox → server search button (icon next to "MySQL server address").
- How to enable: first press "Create network credential" on the main computer (Settings → "Account settings"), then tick the checkbox on the additional computer and run the search. The button hint: «Сначала войдите в аккаунт (авторизуйтесь), затем выполните поиск сервера.» (sign in to the account first, then search for the server).
- Notes: the checkbox fills in the network account. The search marks "own" servers by account and outlet, so a completed cloud sign-in is required. The search button has no caption (icon only) and is hidden while the checkbox is off.
Automatic database server search when the main computer's IP changes
- Where: the «Поиск сервера» (Server search) window appears automatically; manually — the search button in the wizard → «Поиск сервера базы данных» (Database server search) window with «Искать заново» (Search again), «Использовать выбранный» (Use selected), "Exit".
- When it triggers: on an additional workplace (database on another computer) — at start-up if the database is unreachable at the saved address, and during work if the database connection is lost. The POS scans the local network on the database port and connects to its outlet's server. During work it connects only to its own outlet's server; at start-up, if none is found, it may connect to another reachable server that has a database with the same name and accepts the credentials.
- List marks: «Наш сервер» (our server) / «Другая точка» (another outlet) / «Другой аккаунт» (another account).
- If nothing is found: during work the POS shows «Не удалось найти основной компьютер в сети…» (the main computer was not found — check that it is on, connected to the network, and that both computers are on the same router/Wi-Fi) with "Retry" / "Close the program". At start-up, if no server is found, the connection wizard opens.
Database connection monitoring during work
- How it works: the POS checks the database connection every 10 seconds.
- On the main computer (database on this PC) the POS first tries to reconnect by itself if the database server responds; if the server does not respond or reconnecting fails, it asks «Отсутвует подключение к базе данных! … "Да" - установить подключение, "Нет" - закрыть программу.» (no database connection — "Yes" reconnects, "No" closes the program). "No" closes the program immediately.
- On an additional workplace the automatic server search runs instead of this question.
- After recovery: if the database was unavailable for 45 seconds or longer, the POS fully reloads the data in memory (menu) and checks the database tables; after a short drop it only reconnects.
The "Create network credential" button on the main computer
- Where: Settings → "Account settings" («Настройки аккаунта») tab → "Create network credential"; next to it "Network access: " → "IP: … Network credentials were created".
- How to enable: press it on the main computer — Windows asks for administrator rights to add the firewall rule. Then tick "Network credentials" in the wizard on the additional computers (hint: "While creating a connection, activate the "Network Credentials"").
- Notes: if the administrator prompt is declined, the POS warns (in Russian) that the network account was created but the TCP port could not be opened in Windows Firewall and must be opened manually. The firewall port is opened only on the computer that holds the database.
"Программа уже запущена" (the program is already running)
- When it appears: when you start a second copy of the POS on the same computer. The message closes by itself after 2 seconds and the already running POS window is brought to the front.
- Notes: the stable and pre-release builds count as one program — you cannot run both at once. The message is always in Russian.
Splash screen and loading stages
- Where: the logo window at start-up; stage captions: "Connection to database", "Authorization in cloud", "Session creation", "Loading the configuration", "Loading the data".
- Notes: the version number on the splash ("1.1.0.33") and the "Pre-release" caption are fixed and do not reflect the actual build — the real version and build date are on the main screen.
Where to see the program version and database type
- Where: main screen → left panel: "Paloma365.FrontOffice.
<version>", «Версия от<build date>» (version of), "Database type":mysql (…), the "Point of sales" («Торговая точка») and "Workplace" («Рабочее место») names. - Notes: the version comes from the program file itself, the date is the build time. The POS window title is "Paloma365. Front-Office [hh:mm] (build date)".
Integration module version check at start-up
- When: at start-up and after leaving Settings the POS checks the module versions of the enabled integrations (WebKassa, UzKassa, UKassa, TUVIS, Trinity, SPlaza, Senim, ReKassa, QPosKassa, POS_Terminal, Nurkassa, GREEnKassa, EPosKassa, EKassa, mobile waiter, NewCas).
- Message: "During inspection it was found that: … - version …, below minimum required: … Need to update specified modules. Continue program launch anyway?"
- How to answer: "No" closes the program; "Yes" continues at your own risk. Only enabled integrations are checked.
The "Update program" button
- Where: Settings → "Account settings" tab → "Update program" («Обновить программу»).
- How it works: the POS resets its stored version, keeps the current program file as a backup copy (with the date in its name), starts the Paloma365 launcher and closes immediately — with no confirmation.
- Before pressing: close the shift and wait for the orders to upload.
The "Autorun program" checkbox
- Where: Settings → "General settings" («Общие настройки») tab → "Systemic control" («Системное управление») → "Autorun program" («Автозапуск программы»).
- How it works: when ticked, the POS is added to Windows startup — the Paloma365 launcher from the POS folder starts when you sign in to Windows; unticking clears the startup entry.
- Notes: applies only to the current Windows user.
The "Turn off the computer" checkbox
- Where: Settings → "General settings" → "Systemic control" → "Turn off the computer" («Выключать компьютер»); in the dashboard — outlet card → "Turn off computer after closing program".
- How it works: the computer shuts down on a normal exit — after the exit confirmation and the exit password.
- Notes: closing via "Close the program" in Settings does not shut the computer down. If the option is enabled in the dashboard, it cannot be switched off with the local checkbox.
The "Windowed mode" checkbox
- Where: Settings → "General settings" → "Systemic control" → "Windowed mode" («Оконный режим программы»).
- How it works: by default the POS runs full screen without a frame; in windowed mode it runs in a normal framed window sized to the screen minus the taskbar.
- How to enable: tick it and restart the POS — the mode is applied at start-up.
- Notes: the window's close (×) button does not close the program — use "Exit".
Choosing the POS interface language
- Where: Settings → "General settings" → "Language choice" («Выбор языка») → list «Русский» (Russian), "English", «Казахский» (Kazakh), "Uzbek".
- How it works: the Settings window is translated right away, other screens on their next opening or after a restart.
- Notes: some strings may stay in Russian.
Workplace self-diagnosis
- Where: Settings → "General settings" → "Run self-diagnosis" («Выполнить самодиагностику») → rating table "Bad" / "Good" / "Perfect".
- What is rated:
- "Free storage space" — under 3 GB bad, 3 to 10 GB good, 10 GB and more perfect;
- "MySQL performance" — heavy queries over the menu and orders (takes time on a large database);
- "Network exchange speed" — cloud sign-in plus a test request: up to 5 s perfect, up to 15 s good.
- Notes: bad values are highlighted in red. The network test needs internet.
"Less than 3 GB of disk space" warning
- Where: main screen → "Space left on a hard drive less than 3gb of space remaining. It is recommended to relocate the program on another storage!" («Места на диске осталось меньше 3 Гб. Рекомендуется скопировать программу на другой диск!»).
- When it appears: at start-up, if less than 3 GB is free on the program's disk.
The "Save sync log" checkbox
- Where: Settings → "Logs" («Логи») tab → "Save sync log" («Сохранять лог синхронизации»).
- How it works: enables detailed logs. Error, order and delivery-request logs are always written regardless of the checkbox.
- Notes: the POS ticks this checkbox itself on every start, so detailed logs are written again after a restart.
Action log on the "Logs" tab
- Where: Settings → "Logs" tab → "On date:", "Search:" (on-screen keyboard), "Log type:" list → table of records.
- Record types (Russian UI names): «Система», «Создание», «Изменение», «Просмотр», «Отказ», «Удаление позиции в счете», «Разблокировка счета», «Оплата счета», «Печать счета на оплату», «Печать подзаказника», «Начисленно баллов», «Снято баллов», «Печать счета об оплате», «Открытие смены», «Закрытие смены», «Вход в интерфейс», «Выход из интерфеса», «Ввод пароля», «Удаление», «Возврат», «Регистрация чека», «Смена сотрудника» (system, create, edit, view, refusal, item removal, order unlock, payment, bill print, kitchen ticket print, points added/removed, receipt print, shift open/close, interface login/logout, password entry, deletion, return, receipt registration, employee change).
- How it works: pick a date and type — the list refreshes by itself; search matches part of the description, case-insensitive. Only the selected date is shown.
- Notes: the log lives in the outlet's shared database, so it shows records from all workplaces that use that database, not only the current one.
The "Support" window: contacting support from the POS
- Where: sign-in window → "Support"; main screen → menu → "Support" → "Support" window → "Close".
- What it shows: two ways to reach support — the chat in the dashboard (bottom right corner) and phone numbers by country (Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine), plus paloma365.ru, paloma365.kz, paloma365.com.
- Notes: current contacts are loaded from the cloud at sign-in and saved on the POS; without a connection default values are shown. The same contacts are on the "Remote access" Settings tab.
Starting remote-access programs from the "Support" window
- Where: "Support" window → "Remote access" («Удаленный доступ») → prompt "Enter your remote access password" → buttons «TeamViewerQS (Тимвивер)», «AnyDesk (Энидеск)», «Supremo (Супремо)».
- When available: the "Remote access" button is shown only if a remote access password is set in Settings ("Remote access" tab).
- How it works: if the program is not in the POS folder, it is downloaded from the Paloma365 server ("Download in process …") and started. The first download needs internet.
The "Remote access" Settings tab
- Where: Settings → "Remote access" tab → "Enter a password for remote access:" → "Save"; buttons «TeamViewerQS (Тимвивер)», «Supremo (Супремо)», «AnyDesk (Энидеск)».
- Setting the password: tap the field, type the password on the on-screen keyboard ("Set a password") and press "Save" — "Password was successfully set!" appears. The password is stored on this computer; by default none is set.
- Notes: the buttons on this tab start the programs without a password.
POS settings password and how to change it
- Where: main screen → menu → "Settings" → prompt "Enter settings password"; to change — Settings → "Settings password" («Пароль для настроек») tab → "Enter a new settings password:" → "Save".
- How to change: type the new password on the on-screen keyboard ("Enter a new password") and press "Save" — "Password was successfully changed!" appears.
- Notes: the password is stored on this computer and is not set from the dashboard. While Settings is open, the POS background tasks (sync etc.) are paused.
Support contacts and the partner block on the main screen
- Centre of the screen, under the numeric keypad: «ПОДДЕРЖКА БЕСПЛАТНО!» (free support) and a WhatsApp number — from the support contacts received from the cloud (a default number otherwise). The caption follows the selected language.
- Left panel: phones "+7 727 391 26 66 (РК)", "+7 495 240 84 51 (РФ)" and info@paloma365.com. These contacts are built into the program and are not updated from the cloud.
- If the account has a partner: the left-panel contacts are replaced by the "Your manager:" («Ваш партнёр:») block with the partner's name, phone, e-mail and logo. Partner data comes from the cloud at sign-in and is not set on the POS.
The F1 key: help file
- Where: main screen (and the sales screen) → F1; on the main screen also Alt + right-click on the logo.
- When it works: only if the help file is in the program folder; otherwise nothing happens.
The "Change the database" button
- Where: Settings → "Account settings" tab → "Change the database" («Сменить базу данных») → confirmation «Внимание!!! Перед выполнением операции убедитесь, что все счета выгружены и смена закрыта. Продолжить?» (make sure all orders are uploaded and the shift is closed. Continue?).
- How it works: the POS unlinks from the current database — resets the database parameters and sync counters, starts the Paloma365 launcher and closes, so you go through the connection wizard again.
- Before pressing: close the shift and wait for the upload. While a sync is running the operation is refused ("Wait till the end of sync").
- Notes: the cloud sign-in is kept; the database itself is not deleted from the server.
The "Change account" button
- Where: Settings → "Account settings" tab → "Change account" («Сменить аккаунт») → the same «Внимание!!! … Продолжить?» confirmation.
- How it works: the POS deletes its settings stored on this computer (including the cloud sign-in and database connection parameters) and closes. Then start the POS manually and go through sign-in and the connection wizard again.
- Before pressing: upload all orders and close the shift. While a sync is running the operation is refused.
- Notes: the launcher settings (versions, autorun) are kept.
Choosing the cloud address: the "URL address" list
- Where: Settings → "Account settings" tab → "URL address" («Прокси url») list (empty — default address; https://online.paloma365.com, https://kzonline.paloma365.com, https://alfafront.paloma365.com) → "Save the URL address" → "URL-address was saved!".
- How it works: the current cloud session is reset, the POS signs in to the cloud again and HTTPS mode is switched on. The value is stored on this computer.
- Notes: the address list is built into the program. Change the address only on support's advice.
The "Disable HTTPS connection" checkbox
- Where: Settings → "Account settings" tab → "Disable HTTPS connection" → "HTTPS mode changed!"; the current mode is shown on the main screen by the "HTTPS" or "HTTP" label.
- How it works: cloud exchange switches to http://; the cloud session is reset and the address is recalculated at once. Saving a "URL address" switches HTTPS back on.
- Notes: on a new installation the POS works over http by default until you untick the checkbox or save a "URL address". When falling back to backup addresses, the POS still tries https first.
Closing the POS properly: the "Exit" button
- Where: main screen → "Exit" → "Do you want to close the program?" → if required, "Enter the password to "Exit"".
- How it works: the POS closes the cloud session and the database properly; with "Turn off the computer" enabled, it shuts the PC down.
- Exit password: set in the dashboard on the outlet card ("Password: Exit"); if empty, no password is asked.
- Notes: while a sync is running, the POS does not exit ("Wait till the end of sync"). You can also type exit on the main screen and press Enter.
The "Close the program" button in Settings
- Where: Settings → "Close the program" → "Do you want to close the program? In case of a forced exit, the data will not be saved!"
- How it works: the POS is terminated without the normal exit procedure: no exit password, no computer shutdown. The cloud session is closed; unsaved data may be lost.
System clock control
- How it works: at cloud sign-in the POS sets the computer clock to the server time if they differ by more than 2 minutes. If a difference of 5 minutes or more remains, it shows "Failed to set the correct system date and time!" followed by (in Russian) advice to set the correct time on the PC or the correct time zone in the outlet settings and the server time, opens the Windows date and time settings and closes.
- What to check: the outlet time zone in the dashboard (outlet card → "Timezone") and the computer time. For the POS to adjust the clock, the Windows user must be allowed to change the system time.
- Notes: if the computer date is more than 5 minutes earlier than the last saved order, entering interfaces is blocked with "Current computer time and date is less than last saved order! Check the internet connection!".
Working without internet: 14 and 15 days
- 15 days without a cloud connection: entering an interface shows "Program had no access to internet in the last 15 days. Connect the internet!" and the interface does not open until the connection returns.
- 14 days: the cash and sales screens show the warning «Программа не имела доступ к интернету в течении последних 14 дней. Подключите интернет!» (no internet access for the last 14 days). It also appears if the database holds non-uploaded orders older than 14 days.
- What to do: restore the internet and wait for the POS to sign in to the cloud — the date of the last connection is stored in the database.
- Notes: if the database is unavailable, the interface will not open either.
