POS interface language — Paloma365 Classic (Windows POS)

This article is about Paloma365 Classic, the POS application for Windows: which languages the POS supports and how to switch the interface language.

Overview

The POS interface is available in four languages:

  • Russian
  • English
  • Kazakh
  • Uzbek

The language is a local setting of a specific POS computer: different registers of the same outlet can use different languages. The chosen language is kept after the POS restarts.

How to switch the language

  1. On the main POS screen press Settings and enter the settings password (see POS settings).
  2. Open the General settings tab.
  3. In the block under the «Language choice» label, open the drop-down list and pick the language: Russian, English, Kazakh or Uzbek.
  4. The settings window translates immediately. To make sure the whole POS interface switches, close the settings and restart the POS.

Common problems

I picked a language but some texts are still in another one

POS screens are translated as they open — restart the POS after changing the language so the whole interface switches. A few rare messages may stay in Russian: Russian is the program's base language and a small part of the texts is not fully translated.

The language changed on one register but not on the others

That is by design: the language is a local setting of each POS computer. Switch it on every register separately.

The POS "speaks" an unfamiliar language — how do I get back?

Open the settings (the settings button and the password window look the same in any language), first tab → the drop-down under the «Language choice» label → pick your language and restart the POS.

FAQ

Which languages does the POS support?

Russian, English, Kazakh and Uzbek.

Does the POS language change the language of receipts?

No — the language choice affects the program interface on this computer. Receipt content is defined by print form templates — see Receipt printing.

Does the POS language change the dashboard language?

No. The web dashboard language is configured separately in the dashboard itself; the POS setting does not affect it.

Is internet needed to switch the language?

No, translations are built into the program — the language switches offline too.
