The price types guide defines named price lists used across the system.

Overview
Price types represent different pricing tiers or named price lists. For example, you might have "Retail", "Wholesale", "VIP", or "Employee" price types. Each item can have a different price for each price type, allowing flexible pricing strategies.

Step-by-Step Guide
Adding a Price Type
- Go to Guides > Price Types.
- Click Add.
- Enter the Name (e.g. "Retail", "Wholesale", "VIP").
- Select the Currency if different from the default.
- Click Save.
Using Price Types
After creating price types, assign prices to items via the Retail Prices guide to set specific prices for each price type.
FAQ
How do price types work with items?
Each item can have a base price and additional prices per price type. When creating a sale or POS order, the system can use the appropriate price type based on the customer or context.
Do I need multiple price types?
Not necessarily. If all your customers pay the same price, a single default price type is sufficient.
Can I change the currency of a price type?
Yes, but it is recommended to set the currency at creation time and not change it later, as existing prices reference the original currency.
