Equipment settings: scales, customer display, lighting, camera, turnstile — Paloma365 Classic (Windows POS) ​

A reference for the "Equipment" («Оборудование») tab of the "Paloma365 front-office settings" («Настройки Paloma365 - фронт офис») window in Paloma365 Classic: ШТРИХ, Масса-К, Rongta and Mertech scales, weight barcodes, the customer display, POSUA lighting control, the customer-photo camera and the turnstile. The settings window opens via "MENU" («МЕНЮ») → "Settings" («Настройки»).

Where equipment settings are stored ​

  • Notes: most scale and display settings are kept on the POS itself. They reach the web dashboard (and come back from it) only if the POS has the «Хранить настройки в базе (управление из кабинета)» (store settings in the database, managed from the dashboard) checkbox enabled. Weight precision, barcode format and prefixes, the Масса-К connection method, and the POSUA, turnstile and camera checkboxes are always stored on this POS only.

ШТРИХ-Slim scales: getting the weight in the quantity window ​

  • Where: "Settings" → "Equipment" («Оборудование») tab → "Scales" («Весы») tab → "Electronic scales "ШТРИХ"" («Электронные весы ШТРИХ») section → "Use "Штрих-Slim" scales" («Использовать весы ШТРИХ-Slim») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick the checkbox. The Штрих Scale45 scale driver must be installed on the computer, otherwise the POS shows "Failed to load "Штрих-СЛИМ" scale driver!" («Не удалось загрузить драйвер весов Штрих-СЛИМ, Scale45!»).
  • Where it works: on the POS. The weight is filled in with the "Get from scales" («Получить из весов») button on the on-screen quantity keypad, or with the "*" key when the item is sold by weight. The same works in the "Packaging" («Фасовка») window.
  • Notes: "Get from scales" polls all enabled scales (ШТРИХ-Slim and Масса-К, except the «Драйвер R» option).

ШТРИХ-Slim scales: driver properties window ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "ШТРИХ"" section → "Connection test" («Тест подключения») button.
  • How it works: the button is available when "Use "Штрих-Slim" scales" is ticked and opens the Scale45 driver properties window, where the scale connection (port, communication parameters) is configured.
  • Notes: the driver is loaded when the checkbox is ticked, and also when the settings open with the checkbox already ticked. Without the installed driver the properties window will not open.

ШТРИХ-Принт label scales: PLU upload ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "ШТРИХ"" section → "Use "Штрих-Принт" scales" («Использовать весы ШТРИХ-Принт») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick the checkbox (off by default) — the "Upload PLU" («Прогрузить PLU») button becomes available. The ШТРИХ driver for label-printing scales must be installed.
  • Where it works: on the POS.
  • Notes: the ШТРИХ upload can also be started from the "Packaging" («Фасовка») window; if no ШТРИХ scale checkbox is ticked, it shows "Scales are not configured" («Весы не настроены»).

ШТРИХ-Принт PLU upload window ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "ШТРИХ"" section → "Upload PLU". The window has the «Выбор типа PLU кода» (PLU code type) switch — «plu (из таблицы PLU кодов)» (from the PLU code table) / «plu2 (из справочника товаров)» (from the item catalog) — the "Price type:" («Тип цены:») list, the «Только весовые» (weight items only) and «Обрезать цену» (cut price) checkboxes, the "Password" («Пароль»), «Таймаут UDP» (UDP timeout), «UDP-порт отправителя» (sender UDP port) and «UDP-порт получателя» (receiver UDP port) fields, the «IP-адреса весов» (scale IP addresses) list (the "..." button) and the «Прогрузить весы» (upload to scales) button.
  • How to set up: in "Price type:" choose "Item details" («Карточка товара»), "Retail" («Розничная») or a price type from the dashboard. Each scale in the IP list has a «Прогружать» (upload) mark — items go only to marked scales. Defaults: password 30, timeout 500, ports 1111 and 2000. Parameters are saved when changed and when you press «Прогрузить весы».
  • Where it works: on the POS; price types and item PLU codes are managed in the dashboard.

ШТРИХ-Принт PLU upload: messages and price cutting ​

  • Notes: upload progress is shown in the window's text box. If a scale does not respond, a line "Failed to connect to scales - <IP>" («Не удалось подключиться к весам») appears there (or a window with the driver's error text), and the upload continues. The message «Внимание! Не удалсь полкючиться к весам...» (with a typo; "could not connect to the scales") is shown when the POS could not load the scale driver. «Обрезать цену» drops the fractional part of the price.

ШТРИХ-Принт: clearing the scales and exporting PLU to Excel ​

  • Where: the ШТРИХ "Upload PLU" window → «Очистить весы» (clear scales) and «Печать PLU кодов» (print PLU codes) buttons.
  • How it works: «Печать PLU кодов» saves the table to PLU_CODES.xlsx in the program folder and shows «Файл сохранен - …» (file saved).
  • Notes: «Очистить весы» removes items from the scale the POS last connected to in this session (for example during «Прогрузить весы»), not from every scale in the list. With several scales, clear each one right after uploading to it.

ШТРИХ scale weight precision ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "ШТРИХ"" section → "Accuracy control" («Управление точностью») slider, with a sample field next to it.
  • How to set up: move the slider: 1 to 3 decimal places, default 3. Saved immediately, on this POS only; the sample updates.
  • Notes: when the settings open, the slider is available if "Use "Штрих-Slim" scales" is ticked. The precision applies to the weight read from ШТРИХ-Slim.

Automatic PLU upload to ШТРИХ-Принт scales ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "ШТРИХ"" section → "Automatically upload item PLU" («Автоматически выгружать PLU товаров») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it (off by default). After receiving data from the cloud, the POS uploads items in the background to the scales in the IP list marked «Прогружать», using the parameters from the "Upload PLU" window.
  • Where it works: on the POS; items and prices come from the dashboard.
  • Notes: a given scale is uploaded to only if both items and prices changed since the previous upload; if only one changed, that scale is skipped (for Rongta, Mertech and the old/new Масса-К range any change is enough, and for Масса-К «Драйвер R» there is no change check at all).

Масса-К scales: old and new model range ​

  • Where: "Settings" → "Equipment" → "Scales" → "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" («Электронные весы Масса-К») section → "Electronic scales "Масса-К" (Old models)" («…(старый модельный ряд)») and "Electronic scales "Масса-К" (New models)" («…(новый модельный ряд)») checkboxes.
  • How to enable: tick the one you need — it unticks the other one of these two and «Драйвер R». The Масса-К scale driver must be installed; the new-models checkbox tooltip points to the ScalesMassaK_v1.2.0.4.exe driver on the manufacturer's site.
  • Where it works: on the POS, in the quantity window ("Get from scales").
  • Notes: if the weight has not settled, the POS shows "Weight is unstable!" («Вес не стабилен!»). The scale reports grams; the POS converts to kilograms. In this version "Connection test" for the old and new ranges always ends with «Подключение к весам МАССА-К по порту … НЕ удалось!» (connection failed) and does not save the port — connection testing and saving the port work only for «Драйвер 100» and «Драйвер R».

Масса-К scales via «Драйвер 100» ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → "Electronic scales "Масса-К"(Driver 100)" («Электронные весы Масса-К (Драйвер 100)») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it, keep the connection switch on "Virtual COM port" («Виртуальный COM порт»), choose the port and press "Connection test". On success the port is saved. If the switch is on "IP address" («IP Адрес»), the POS tests over the COM port but saves the IP field contents instead of the port.
  • Where it works: on the POS; the «Множитель веса:» (weight multiplier) is applied when weighing.
  • Notes: this checkbox does not untick the other Масса-К options. Keep only one option enabled, otherwise the POS polls all enabled ones when weighing. Detailed scale activity is written to the POS log. If only «Драйвер 100» is enabled when you reopen the settings, "Connection test" is unavailable — untick and tick «Драйвер 100» again to make it active.

Масса-К scales with «Драйвер R» (network) ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → "Massa-K electronic scale (Driver R)" («Электронные весы Масса-К (Драйвер R)») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it — it unticks the old and new range, and the switch is forced to "IP address" and locked. Enter the scale address as IP or IP:port (the field defaults to 192.168.0.132; if no address has been saved, uploads go to 127.0.0.1:5001). "Connection test" answers "Scale connected!" («Весы подключены!») or "Scale not connected!" («Весы не подключены!») and saves the address on success.
  • Where it works: on the POS.
  • Notes: with «Драйвер R» no weight is passed to the quantity window — this option is for uploading items only (manual and automatic).

Масса-К: connecting via COM port or IP address ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → "Virtual COM port" / "IP address" switch, COM port list, IP field.
  • How to set up: the chosen option is saved immediately (on this POS). The port or address itself is saved only after a successful "Connection test".
  • Notes: the IP field accepts only digits, dots and colons. For «Драйвер R» the switch is locked on "IP address"; «Драйвер 100» uses the COM port.

Масса-К: connection test and saving the port ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → "Connection test".
  • How it works: for «Драйвер R» — "Scale connected!" or "Scale not connected!", the address is saved on success. For «Драйвер 100» — on success "Connection to "МАССА-К" scales through port … is successful! COM port was saved!" («Подключение к весам МАССА-К по порту … успешно удалось! СОМ порт был сохранен!»), otherwise «… НЕ удалось!» ("Failed!").
  • Notes: the failure message always shows the COM port, even in IP mode. When the settings open, the button is available only if the old or new range or «Драйвер R» is enabled; for «Драйвер 100» it becomes available after the «Драйвер 100» checkbox is ticked in this window.

Масса-К: PLU upload via CSV or over the network ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → "Upload PLU". The window has «Выбор типа PLU кода» (PLU code type), "Price type:", the «Скрыть товары с нулевой ценой» (hide zero-price items) checkbox and the «Программа для формирования CSV» (CSV program), «Сформировать CSV файл» (create CSV file) and «Прогрузить весы» (upload to scales) buttons.
  • How it works: «Сформировать CSV файл» creates MASSA_K_DATA_FILE.CSV and opens its folder. «Прогрузить весы» saves the window settings and runs the ScalesCommunications.exe exchange program, which writes the previously created file to the scale — so press «Сформировать CSV файл» first. «Программа для формирования CSV» runs ScalesCommunications.exe, downloading it from the Paloma365 server if it is not in the POS folder. With «Драйвер R» items go to the scale directly over the network, and the CSV buttons are unavailable.
  • Where it works: on the POS; price types and PLU come from the dashboard.
  • Notes: "Upload PLU" is available with the old or new range or «Драйвер R» enabled. «Скрыть товары с нулевой ценой» skips items whose item-card price is zero.

Масса-К: automatic PLU upload ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → "Automatically upload item PLU" checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it (off by default). The upload runs in the background after data is received from the cloud.
  • Notes: for the old and new ranges the POS uploads when items or prices changed since the last upload: it creates the CSV and runs ScalesCommunications.exe, which must already be in the POS folder (it is not downloaded during automatic upload). For «Драйвер R» the network upload runs after every data receipt, without checking for changes.

Масса-К: weight precision ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → "Accuracy control" slider, with a sample next to it.
  • How to set up: 2 to 3 decimal places, default 3; saved immediately, on this POS only.
  • Notes: the slider is always available. It shows the saved value on opening the settings only if the old or new range is enabled (otherwise it sits at 3). The sample field is active on opening for the old and new range, and becomes active when «Драйвер 100» or «Драйвер R» is ticked in this window.

Масса-К: weight multiplier and quick weight check ​

  • Where: "Electronic scales "Масса-К"" section → «Множитель веса:» (weight multiplier) field and the button next to it.
  • How to set up: enter a whole number (digits only, default 1) — saved as you type. The button next to it reads the weight from the configured scales and shows it in a message.
  • Notes: the multiplier applies only to «Драйвер 100». The button reads the weight the same way as "Get from scales", including from ШТРИХ-Slim.

Weight barcode format ​

  • Where: "Scales" → "Barcode format" («Формат штрихкода») section → "Barcode format" switch: «22 00001 83.550 X» or «22 0001 183.550 X».
  • How to set up: saved immediately, on this POS only. The first option is 5 digits of item code and 5 digits of weight, the second is 4 digits of code and 6 digits of weight; in both the weight has three decimal places.
  • Where it works: when a 13-digit barcode with the weight prefix is scanned in sales and warehouse documents, if the code is not found as a regular item barcode.
  • Notes: for the piece prefix the format is always 5+5: item code and quantity.

Weight and piece barcode prefixes ​

  • Where: "Barcode format" section → "Prefix for barcodes" («Префикс для штрих-кодов») group → "Weighted" («Весовой:») and "Pieced" («Штучный:») fields (the buttons next to them open the "Prefix for weighted products" / "Prefix for pieced products" keypad) → "Save" («Сохранить»).
  • How to set up: enter two-digit prefixes (defaults: weight 22, piece 21) and press "Save". If Mertech automatic upload is enabled, the prefixes are sent to the Mertech scales right away.
  • Notes: if a prefix has one digit, the POS appends a zero to it on the right when matching barcodes (2 → 20). For Rongta scales the prefixes are sent as the department number.

Item lookup mode for scale labels ​

  • Where: "Barcode format" section → "Search when scanning label" («Поиск при сканировании этикетки») switch: "By code and PLU" («По коду и по PLU»), "By PLU" («По PLU»), "By code" («По коду»).
  • How to set up: saved immediately; default "By code and PLU".
  • Notes: in "By PLU" mode Mertech and Rongta scales receive the PLU as the item code instead of the item code — the mode must match how items were uploaded to the scales.

Rongta scales: uploading items ​

  • Where: "Scales" → "Rongta electronic scales" («Электронные весы Rongta») section → "Upload PLU". The window has the «IP-адреса весов» table with the «IP Адрес весов» (scale IP), «Коэффициент» (coefficient) and «Драйвер» (driver) columns, "Add" («Добавить») and "Delete" («Удалить») buttons, the "Price type:" list, the «Только весовые товары» (weight items only) checkbox and the «Прогрузить весы» button.
  • How to set up: "Add" creates an empty row. Tapping the IP cell opens the IP keypad. Tapping «Коэффициент» opens a keypad for the price multiplier: an empty value or 0 becomes 1. A row without a coefficient is not saved. Tapping «Драйвер» toggles «Старый» (old) / «Новый» (new): «Старый» works through the rtscaledrv.dll library in the POS folder, «Новый» is for the new firmware and talks over the network on port 5001; if no driver is chosen, «Старый» is used. Choose the price type, optionally «Только весовые товары», and press «Прогрузить весы» — during the upload the button reads «Ожидайте...» (please wait).
  • Where it works: on the POS; items and prices come from the dashboard.
  • Notes: items with a PLU longer than 6 characters are skipped. On failure the POS shows «Не удалось выгрузить товары в весы RONGTA [IP: …]» (could not upload items to the RONGTA scales).

Rongta scales: automatic PLU upload ​

  • Where: "Rongta electronic scales" section → "Automatically upload item PLU" checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it (off by default). After receiving data from the cloud the POS uploads items to each scale in the list if items or prices changed since the last upload to it.

Mertech scales: uploading items over the network ​

  • Where: "Scales" → «Электронные весы Mertech» (Mertech electronic scales) section → "Upload PLU". The window has the «IP-адреса весов» table with the «IP Адрес весов», «Порт» (port) and «Пароль» (password) columns, "Add" and "Delete" buttons, the "Price type:" list, the «Только весовые товары» checkbox and the «Прогрузить весы» button.
  • How to set up: "Add" creates an empty row. Enter the IP address, then the port and password on the on-screen keypad (an empty value or 0 becomes 1). A row is saved only when all three cells are filled. Optionally tick «Только весовые товары» — only weight items will be uploaded. Press «Прогрузить весы».
  • Where it works: on the POS; items and prices come from the dashboard.
  • Notes: items without a PLU, or with a PLU or code longer than 10 characters, are skipped. On failure the POS shows «Не удалось выгрузить товары в весы Mertech [IP: …]» (could not upload items to the Mertech scales).

Mertech scales: automatic PLU upload and sending prefixes ​

  • Where: «Электронные весы Mertech» section → "Automatically upload item PLU" checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it (off by default). After receiving data from the cloud the POS uploads items to each scale if items or prices changed since the last upload.
  • Notes: barcode prefixes are not sent after synchronization. With this checkbox ticked, the "Save" button in the "Prefix for barcodes" group sends the weight and piece prefixes to all Mertech scales in the list.

Customer display: item, total, cash received and change ​

  • Where: "Settings" → "Equipment" → "Customer's display" («Дисплей покупателя») tab → "Use customer's display" («Использовать дисплей покупателя») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it. A customer display driver must be installed; the display port is configured in the driver itself.
  • Where it works: on the POS: when an item is added the display shows its name and quantity, then the amount due, and for cash payment the amount received and the change.
  • Notes: the display has 2 lines of 20 characters. Display errors go to the POS log; the cashier sees no message.

Customer display: lines shown between sales ​

  • Where: "Customer's display" tab → "Upper line" («Верхняя строка») and "Lower line" («Нижняя строка») fields → "Save".
  • How to set up: enter the texts and press "Save" — they are sent to the display immediately and shown when the order screen opens.
  • Notes: works only with "Use customer's display" ticked. Until you set your own texts the fields show a Latin placeholder («up_default_display» and «down_default_display») — just type your lines and press "Save".

T610 customer display on a COM port ​

  • Where: "Customer's display" tab → "Use the customer's display T610" («Использовать дисплей покупателя T610») checkbox → "Select the COM port to which the device is connected" («Выберите COM порт к которому подключено устройство») list.
  • How to enable: tick it and choose the COM port — it is saved when selected. The port speed is fixed at 2400.
  • Where it works: on the POS.
  • Notes: the T610 shows only an amount: the order total and the change. When the order screen closes, «0» is sent to the display.

T610 display: connection check ​

  • Where: "Customer's display" tab → "Send" («Отправить») button.
  • How it works: available when the T610 checkbox is ticked. The POS shows «TEST» on the display and reports "Message sent" («Сообщение отправлено») or "Failed to send a message on a display" («Не удалось отправить сообщение на экран») — the latter also if no port is selected.

POSUA lighting control for timed objects ​

  • Where: "Settings" → "Equipment" → "Lighting control(POSUA)" («Управление светом (POSUA)») tab → "Use POSUA device" («Использовать POSUA устройство») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it — the POS checks for the pwr8.dll library in the program folder and downloads it from the Paloma365 server if missing. Then choose and save the COM port. The channel for each object (table, lane, room) is set in the «Тарификаторы» (tariffs) interface in the object designer: the «Настройки стола» (table settings) window → «Порт питания:» (power port) field.
  • Where it works: on the POS; the objects themselves come from the dashboard.
  • Notes: an object's channel is switched on when its tariff starts and off when it ends. Every 15 seconds the POS checks the channels of objects with active tariffs and switches on any that are off — this check starts at program launch if POSUA is already enabled. Without a saved COM port the POS shows "Specify COM port for Posua!" («Укажите COM порт для Posua!»).

POSUA: choosing the COM port and checking the connection ​

  • Where: "Lighting control(POSUA)" tab → "Select the COM port to which the POSUA device is connected" («Выберите COM порт к которому подключено устройство POSUA») list → "Save".
  • How it works: the POS opens the selected port. On success the port is saved and "Connection successfully set..." («Подключение успешно установлено...») appears; otherwise "Failed to connect to device..." («Не удалось подключиться к устройству...») and the port is reset.
  • Notes: a problem with the module library shows «Проблемы с модулем posua...» (problems with the posua module).

POSUA: testing a single channel ​

  • Where: "Lighting control(POSUA)" tab → "Channel" («Канал») field → "Check the channel" («Проверить канал») button.
  • How it works: enter the channel number (numbering starts at 1) and press the button — the channel switches on for 2 seconds with "Please wait, channel is under checkup..." («Подождите идет проверка канала...»), then switches off.
  • Notes: a saved COM port is required, otherwise "Specify COM port for Posua!". On error — "Failed to check the channel..." («Не удалось проверить канал...»).

Customer photo from a webcam ​

  • Where: "Settings" → "Equipment" → "Camera" («Камера») tab → "Customer's image" («Фотографии у клиентов») checkbox.
  • How to enable: tick it. The clientPhoto.dll library must be in the POS folder — the "Camera configurations" («Настроить камеру») button downloads it if missing.
  • Where it works: on the POS. When a customer is added the POS asks "Take a picture of customer?" («Сфотографировать клиента?»); the photo is saved to the clients_photo folder inside the POS folder and its path to the customer card. In the customer selection window the photo is shown on the customer panel, and it can be retaken there («Изменить фотографию?», change photo?).
  • Notes: if clientPhoto.dll is missing or broken, taking a photo shows "clientPhoto.dll library was not found..." («Библиотека clientPhoto.dll не найдена...»).

Camera: setup and test ​

  • Where: "Camera" tab → "Camera configurations" button.
  • How it works: available only with "Customer's image" ticked. The POS checks for clientPhoto.dll (downloading it from the Paloma365 server if missing) and opens the capture window in test mode.
  • Notes: if the library is broken, the POS only writes "Error while launching camera settings..." («Ошибка при вызове настроек камеры...») to the log; no message appears on screen.

Turnstile: entry and exit channels ​

  • Where: "Settings" → "Equipment" → "Turnstile control" («Управление турникетом») tab → "Turnstile control (button in sales mode)" («Управление турникетом (кнопка в режиме продаж)») checkbox, "Entry channel" («Канал вход») and "Exit channel" («Канал выход») fields.
  • How to set up: tick the checkbox and enter the POSUA module channel numbers (defaults 1 and 2, numbering starts at 1) — saved as you type.
  • Notes: the fields and test buttons are available only with the checkbox ticked. The module's COM port is set on the "Lighting control(POSUA)" tab.

Turnstile: testing entry and exit ​

  • Where: "Turnstile control" tab → "Check the turnstile" («Проверить турникет») buttons next to "Entry channel" and "Exit channel".
  • How it works: the corresponding channel switches on for 0.3 seconds with "Please wait, channel is under checkup..." and then off.
  • Notes: without a saved POSUA COM port — "Specify COM port for Posua!"; on error — "Failed to check the channel...".
