Time and attendance — Paloma365 Classic (Windows POS)
This article is about Paloma365 Classic, the POS application for Windows. Time and attendance lets employees clock in and out right at the register: swipe a magnetic card or enter a personal code, and the POS records the event with the exact time. Clocking in is not the same as opening a register shift — see Login and shift opening.
Overview
When the feature is enabled for the outlet (the administrator turns it on in the back office), the POS shows a Time tracking button. It opens the Work hour management screen: an authorization panel on the left, the list of employees currently at work on the right, and the current time and date in the corner. Marks alternate automatically — one clock-in, then one clock-out.
Each till is linked to its time-tracking point and location — the administrator creates and assigns them in the back office, and every mark is recorded with that point, so reports show where the employee clocked in. Only employees set up in the back office as users (with a personal code) and not deleted can clock in.
How to clock in or out
- Tap Time tracking on the POS screen.
- The screen prompts you to authorize with a magnetic card or by entering your code manually.
- Swipe your card on the reader, or tap the manual-entry button and type your personal code on the on-screen keyboard.
- The POS shows a short welcome message with your name for a clock-in, or a goodbye message for a clock-out, then is ready for the next employee.
- If you hold three or more job positions, the POS asks you to pick one when clocking in. Warning: if you close the selection window without picking a position, the clock-in is not recorded and no message is shown — be sure to pick one. With exactly two positions the POS takes the second one from the list automatically, without asking.
- Tap Close to return to the register.
What you see on screen
The at-work table has two columns — employee name and clock-in time — and refreshes after every mark. Someone who clocked in on a previous day and never clocked out shows a "yesterday" note next to the time. The header time comes from the POS clock and is what gets recorded.
Common problems
- Card is not read. Swipe again, check the reader and the card; meanwhile clock in manually with your code.
- Code does nothing. No employee matches that code — mistyped, not set up as a user, or deleted. Nothing is recorded; check the code with your administrator.
- No Time tracking button. The feature is disabled — the administrator enables it in the back office.
- "Error while loading parameters for work hours tracker." — the POS could not load its time-tracking point and location, and time tracking switched off on this till. Ask the administrator to check that a time-tracking point is created and assigned to the outlet in the back office, then restart the POS.
FAQ
Do I need an open shift to clock in? No — time and attendance is independent of the register shift. See Login and shift opening.
Can I clock out the next day? Yes — you stay in the at-work list with a "yesterday" note until you clock out.
